Oh and Here Is My Zine From 1993

YUP. It was called Bad Representation. I forgot that entirely. It was published “by the Patty Hearst Public Art Collective,” which I guess was just me and a Kinko’s in this instance? And yes, the premiere issue’s cover story was headlined WHOSE PENIS IS IT, ANYWAY?—and it was apparently about “visual subjugation and “male supremacy” in gay pornography and it was about the Jeff Stryker dildo, pretty much, yeah. On the back cover there is some analysis of TV Guide’s coverage of “Beavis and Butthead,” which was quite the scandalous show then! A teaser for issue 2 promises: “Freud and Morrissey: A Match Made In Hell?” As well as: “The Pro-Porno Response to Issue 1,” and also, WAIT FOR IT, “Epistemology of the Closet read as a fetish.” Also somewhere on the bottom of the back cover is scrawled “Extra points to those who noticed the penis size discrepancy on the cover” (the porno magazine with Stryker on the cover promises 9 inches; the dildo allegedly cast from him promises only 8) and also “If you don’t like typos and bad layout, go read October. No one else is.”
